Suzanna Mackenzie

I am a psychodynamic counsellor, psychotherapist and psychosexual and relationship therapist for couples and individuals with twenty years experience working with individuals, couples and families.
For nearly ten years, I worked for Gloucestershire Counselling Service holding positions of GP practice counsellor, assessment counsellor, counselling for Employment Welfare Service, and counselling on-going and short-term (time-limited) work as a Senior Counsellor.
During this time, a theme echoed again and again through the heart of my work with people, the theme of relationship. Whether regarding a couple, or family member, work colleague or friend, difficulties in negotiating satisfying relationships are a central concern. I believe that how we connect with others in our relationships profoundly impacts the quality of our lives, and so was motivated to further my professional development by training in couple counselling & psychotherapy and psychosexual therapy at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, where I then later worked as a visiting clinician and for whom I now work as a Psychosexual Supervisor.

Accreditations

I run a private practise for couples and individuals, and offer supervision for accredited therapists and student therapists from The Little Cabin, near Stroud, Gloucestershire. I am a trainer in the field of Couple Therapy and also work as a Psychosexual Supervisor for Tavistock Relationships in London, which is known as a centre of excellence for relationship counselling and couple psychotherapy.

I am committed to my own personal and professional development, and undertake regular supervision and specific CPD, to continue to expand my learning and enrich my work.
