The Process of Therapy

"These pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them." Rumi

Sometimes when life has become more of a struggle than a pleasure, it can be useful to take a pause for thought and self-reflection. Relationships can seem set on 'repeat', or forming a satisfactory one feels impossible. Life can feel turned upside down through sudden crisis, or you can feel in a raw state of bereavement when nothing will ever be the same again. Dissatisfaction at work or in life can lead to feelings of lacklustre and of being stuck. Questions like "why does it have to be like this?" or " will things ever change?", might be going around in your head at such times.

Pause For Thought

Coming for therapy provides pause for thought and gives you the opportunity to take your questions, or troubling feelings on and allow for a closer look at what is happening. To be met where you are and feel heard in a confidential, non-judgemental space.

Gain Insight

By gaining insight about why certain problems repeat themselves or feel stuck, we understand ourselves better and create the ability to make different choices, improving the quality of our lives. This process is helpful across a spectrum of needs, from serious deep-seated distress, to stuck relationship problems, loss of direction or simply to find richer fulfilment in life.

Hidden Dynamics

Psychodynamic therapy is both a method of practice and a particular professional relationship between you and me, as your therapist. It endeavours to help find increased awareness of hidden dynamics unconsciously at play and explore its' influence in your life, to go beyond what is known, and to grow.
