THERAPIES & SERVICES
Sex therapy is a talking therapy. It is called Psychosexual to emphasize how minds are as important as our bodies when it comes to sexual desire and function.
Family therapy held in a co-therapy practice that serves to hold a safe thinking space, allowing for differing viewpoints to help feel heard and gain greater appreciation for each other.
After our first email or phone contact, we can arrange a time to meet for an initial consultation. This first meeting is a chance to gather your thoughts about your life, to explore what is happening now and also dip into your past, for us get a feel for how it might be to work together. Sometimes being able to hear yourself tell something of your life can be a powerful experience in that first meeting. If we then feel there is work we can do together, we arrange sessions at a time that is sustainable.
On-going or Time-Limited
Sessions which are on-going may give an opportunity to really filter down to what might be underlying issues for you. By reviewing your progress over time, a sense of change can be discovered. On the other hand sometimes knowing how many sessions there will be at the outset can help bring sharp focus to a problem when there are particular issues to get a hold of. This way of working is called time-limited, or short-term therapy.
Either way, we will be working together to make your life more understandable to yourself. Greater insight creates more elbow room in your thinking, freeing you up to discover the ability to make different choices and so help you to get more enjoyment out of life again.
